More than 18 million map-ready civic address locations across Canada.
Aeroview supplies nationwide urban and rural coverage for geocoding, delivery operations, network planning, insurance, analytics and other location-dependent applications. Monthly updates and flexible delivery options help enterprise teams work with a current, production-ready national address layer.
Aeroview maintains Canadian civic address coverage across every province and territory, including major metropolitan areas, smaller municipalities, rural communities and northern regions. The national product combines address information from provincial, territorial and municipal sources into a consistent delivery structure.
Coverage depth varies with the information maintained by each source. National coverage therefore does not mean that every building, secondary unit or unnumbered structure has a separate record. Postal-code centroids and stand-alone P.O. boxes are not substitutes for physical civic address points. Unit details and postal codes are included where available from the contributing source or Aeroview enrichment process.

The standard schema connects a civic address to a geographic point and a persistent Aeroview record identifier. Exact field availability varies by jurisdiction, and a current data dictionary is supplied for evaluation and integration.
Aeroview prioritizes source-provided civic locations and building-level placement. Depending on the jurisdiction and source, a point may represent a rooftop or building location, a primary entrance or access location, a parcel-related location, or another authoritative civic position. These distinctions matter for routing, underwriting and site-level analysis, so the current specification and sample should be reviewed for the areas important to your project.
Address components are standardized into a consistent national structure, including civic numbers, street elements, province or territory codes and postal-code formatting. Exact and near-matching records are reviewed using both address attributes and spatial position so overlapping sources can be reconciled while distinct units and valid alternate entrances remain identifiable where supported.
Monthly updates are available for workflows that depend on current address assignments and new development. Quarterly delivery can also be scheduled where a less frequent refresh is operationally sufficient. Full replacement files and change-oriented delivery can be scoped to the client implementation, and each delivery includes a defined release date and technical specification.
The delivery schedule describes how often Aeroview publishes the product. Individual contributing authorities update on their own cycles, so not every jurisdiction changes in every monthly release.
Standard delivery formats include Esri Shapefile, File Geodatabase, CSV, GeoJSON and KML. REST API access is also available. GeoPackage, Parquet and direct database delivery can be arranged for enterprise implementations that require a different schema, partitioning method or loading workflow.
The technical specification confirms the coordinate reference system, character encoding, field definitions, null handling, file organization and delivery method. Aeroview can prepare a representative sample in the intended format so the client can test loading, indexing and spatial performance before purchase.
Aeroview offers licensing for internal enterprise systems, analytics, commercial applications and SaaS platforms. Terms are structured around the licensed geography, users or systems, update period, delivery method and external use. Public display, derived products, affiliate or contractor access, raw-data redistribution and resale are addressed explicitly in the agreement.
For a tailored quote, provide the required geography, use case, number of users or systems, preferred format, refresh schedule and whether the address information will appear in an external product or service.
Aeroview’s Civic Address Points provide rooftop-level accuracy with GPS-precise coordinates, manually verified by municipal officials rather than estimated through street interpolation. This ensures each point represents the actual physical location of the address, eliminating the estimation errors common with centerline-based geocoding.
Unlike street centerline geocoding that interpolates approximate locations based on address ranges, Civic Address Points pinpoint exact building locations. Street interpolation can place street addresses incorrectly when buildings or unit number don’t follow linear patterns, while address points provide the precise rooftop location, critical for emergency response and delivery accuracy.
Rooftop accuracy represents the exact geographic location of a building, while interpolated addresses estimate location along a street segment based on address ranges. Rooftop accuracy is the gold standard for geocoding, providing precise coordinates that eliminate the guesswork of interpolation.
Civic Address Points provide nationwide coverage with both urban and rural address locations. The dataset contains addresses, civic address data, from authoritative municipal sources representing all provinces and territories.
Yes, the dataset includes comprehensive rural coverage alongside urban addresses across Canada. Rural civic addresses are particularly important for emergency 911 services where precise location identification is critical.
Coverage comprehensiveness varies by province depending on municipal data availability and addressing programs. The dataset aggregates addresses from authoritative provincial, territorial, and municipal government sources to provide the most complete representation available.
Tell Aeroview which provinces or territories matter most, how the points will be used, the required format and the desired update schedule. We will provide the current product specification, a representative sample and licensing options matched to the implementation.
